Ann & Erik

Ann is 29 years old, and an Assistant Professor of Psychology. She graduated with her PhD in Social Psychology in 2009 from Purdue and BA in Psychology from Penn State in 2003. When she's not wedding planning, she's probably working on house planning...laying out furniture on graph paper, looking at couches, concocting DIY plans, etc. Right now life is wedding, wedding, wedding, house, house, house....and oh yeah, students, students, students, work, work, work. But occasionally she also plays with her new DSLR camera (christmas gift from Erik!) and knitting needles. She loves reading books, watching movies, and subjecting herself to self-imposed challenges (i.e., 90 days shopping free, quiting coffee, etc.). When Ann grows up, she hopes to be just like Liz Lemon (that's what happens when you watch too many 30 Rock episodes back-to-back)!

Erik is 29 30 years old, and a graphic designer for a small promotional products company. He graduated from Penn State with a BA in Graphic Design in 2003. When he's not wedding planning, he's probably planning his next hiking/camping trip...where is it gonna be, what trails should we hike, how to convince Ann she will not be attacked by a bear. Right now life is wedding, wedding, wedding, house, house, house, work, work, work. But occasionally he finds time to take long walks in the morning, preferably in our soon-to-be new neighborhood. He loves reading books about survival, watching movies, and striking a balance between mocking/supporting Ann's current self-imposed challenges (she's getting ready to quit coffee again). When Erik grows up, he hopes to be just like Bear Grylls...just kidding!..Les Stroud.

Ann and Erik have been going strong since 2003. They ran into each other several times throughout their senior year but consider Graduation Eve the night they first "met" and had a conversation. Sparks were flying that night! Ann was moving to Indiana in August, but couldn't stop thinking about Erik. It took several weeks, several misunderstandings (ask either one of them about the night Erik stood Ann up), but they finally got it together and started dating in June 2003. A summer romance turned into a long distance relationship, which led Erik to move in with Ann in March 2004. They bought their first house in March 2005 and when Ann finished her PhD, they packed up and moved to South Carolina in August 2009. Now, they're enjoying their "new" (built in 1940s) house they bought in May 2011. In short, it was a fast romance, followed by what most would consider a slow trot to marriage. Ann and Erik enjoy traveling together, spending time with their french bulldog, Brodie, drinking good beer, eating good food...enjoying every day together. They are both looking forward to the next few months of moving, turning 30, and and celebrating their marriage with family and friends.

Graduation Eve 2003...Don't they look like a bunch of dummies about to fall in love?
